The Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) held an internal workshop today, Friday, 30th January 2026, to strengthen staff capacity to understand departmental roles and functions, thereby enhancing collaboration across departments, and strengthening EITI implementation for fiscal year 2026.
From December 15–20, 2025, members of the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) and staff of the Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) convened in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, for a retreat to review progress and challenges encountered during fiscal year 2025.
Today, January 16, 2026, the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) of the Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) held a virtual introductory meeting with the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) International Secretariat Validation Team, as part of Liberia’s Validation process, which commenced on January 1, 2026.
On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the LEITI Secretariat convened stakeholders outside the MSG to review and provide feedback on a draft five-year strategic plan. When completed, the plan will support the short-, medium-, and long–term success of the Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative.
A team from the EITI International Secretariat has arrived in Liberia for a Pre-Validation mission, taking place from September 26, 2025, to October 3, 2025. This mission prepares Liberia for its upcoming validation by the EITI next year.
