LEITI Multi-Stakeholder Group Convenes to Advance Key Reports Ahead of 2026 Validation
The Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) of the Liberia Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (LEITI) held its third quarterly meeting on September 18, 2025.
During the meeting, the body reviewed and provided substantive comments on three critical draft reports: Liberia's 16th EITI Report, a Compliance Investigation scoping and inception report, and an Updated Simplified Contract Matrix report. The LEITI Secretariat was mandated to compile these comments and submit them to the Independent Administrator and Consultants for integration.
The MSG plans to launch and publish these finalized reports, along with LEITI's new Data Portal, by the end of October 2025. The publication of these documents is a crucial step as Liberia prepares for its EITI International Secretariat validation, scheduled to begin in January 2026.
The meeting was attended by a wide range of institutions, including the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the National Oil Company of Liberia, the Liberia Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Publish What You Pay, the National Civil Society Council of Liberia, the Liberia Chamber of Mines, and representatives from the National Legislature.
